“We create radically seasonal and impeccably sourced cheese, cured meats, crudité and fruit boards. We are 100% woman-owned and family operated. We source all our products from American makers we love and respect.”
This family run business is nothing short of AMAZING!
When Covid 19 hit Los Angeles so hard they did everything they could every single day to help local farmers that were not able to sell their products at the farmers markets, which in turn helped so many people in the area and beyond get fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables each and every week.
This identical twin duo and their wonderful team warms my heart and I am so proud to know them and do business with them. Their creations are ART, edible ART-

Ok, so my hope was to bake for free & learn lots from the legendary Marcus Spahr,
so I just showed up, apron in tow.
Instead we had lunch, talked & then did business at his digs in the charming,
quaint little town of El Triunfo, Baja CA Sur.
Marcus is a self taught baker & has baked every day for 21 years.
He even built his mesquite wood-fire ovens for his Caffe.
Before Caffe El Triunfo there was Caffe Todos Santos, over on the west coast of Baja.
From start to finish Marcus’ bread fermentation process takes 24 hours to make.
His method develops more complex & mildly acidic flavors, which give his breads
a natural sweetness & nut-like character.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of a meal in his pizzeria or bakery, I highly recommend that you include an afternoon in El Triunfo for your next trip.
It’s really the best of two worlds: authentic Mexican charm & artisan pastries…
& it shouldn’t be missed!
PS while supplies last, FIND Ojai Jelly at Caffe El Triunfo
Open every day!

Taste of Cuba

Wet your whistle with this refreshing cocktail-
Mojito
This refreshing cocktail recipe is from “Taste of Cuba”
& said to be “the original authentic recipe from Havana, Cuba”.
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
Juice from 1 lime (2 ounces)
4 mint leaves
1 sprig of mint
Havana Club white Rum (2 ounces)
2 ounces club soda
ice (preferably crushed)
Place mint leaves into a “collins” glass & squeeze lime over it.
You’ll want about two ounces of lime juice.
Add powdered sugar, & gently muddle mint into lime juice & sugar.
Add ice, then add rum, & stir. Top off with club soda.
Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
Serves 1
A nice addition; run a little Ojai Jalapeño Jelly around the glass-rim, then roll the rim in
a pretty cocktail sugar. Sometimes I do 1/2 of the rim in lemon sugar & the other 1/2 in lime salt.
→enjoy
